About Elizabeth
Hello, I'm Elizabeth, I grew up in Yorkshire before moving to Oxford for university. I have spent the last couple of years travelling and working in Australia, and studying in the US. I'm now back in the UK before beginning a PhD at Cambridge in the autumn. I love chatting about literature and it's what led me to tutor!

My lessons focus on the development of close-reading and essay-writing skills. My aim is to give students the confidence to follow their own intuitions and the language to articulate them in a sophisticated and well-structured way. This is how essays become original, interesting (to write and to read!), and insightful.
Lessons are typically 45 minutes. I teach both GCSE and A-Level.
I have a year’s experience as a tutor, and an excellent academic track-record. I have undergraduate and master’s degrees in English Literature from Oxford, and I am beginning a PhD at Cambridge in the autumn.
