About Shachi
I am a banker with 9 years of experience. I have worked in 4 different banks in India. In all 4 banks, I have built relationships and trust with the clients. I was like a daughter to them. It was very difficult for me to leave my job and move to London after my marriage. Because you have to struggle with dependency on someone else for some time. I have always been independent. From London, within six months, my husband and I decided to move here to New Zealand. The main reason was because of how beautiful this country is. I have 2 sisters, one living in the US and another one living in Hamilton, New Zealand. I am happy that I will be closer to one of my sisters. I have done a master's in Business Administration in Marketing and graduation in Bachelor of Pharmacy. We have a beautiful house back there in India in a small town. I am very proud of myself and my sisters that coming from a small town, we have made our lives better.

When I was in university, my sister and I were teaching basic Gujarati (my native language) to some tribal women living in our town, how to read and write for 3-4 months. After those months, we got feedback from our students that at least now they can sign their name or they can read on the bus where they are going without asking anyone.
