About Julia

I'm a trained attorney and law grad with a background in English Literature looking to transition into teaching. I studied Literature in London for three years, where I researched and wrote a dissertation on Shakespeare and the Law, learned Old English, and even prepared my own translation of Beowulf from the original. After undergrad, I briefly served as an LSAT prep tutor and eventually became a peer tutor in law school where I assisted first-year students. I care deeply about the arts and humanities as well as all forms of learning. I am fluent in Spanish and have worked as an interpreter as well as counselor at a Spanish Immersion Camp. In addition to working at the higher education level, I also love to tutor young kids and provide support to K-12 students seeking academic support. For me, tutoring is a relational endeavor that relies on the connection between student and teacher as much as the credentials of either. I am excited to get to know every student personally and help them find their unique learning style.

About the lesson

Whether you're seeking conversation practice, formal exercises, or grammar lessons, I will work with you to become comfortable with the language at your level! My approach is fairly casual and social, but with the technical skills to support a deep understanding of the language.

I have received tutoring from Julia for a few months now. I can tell that there has been a noticeable increase in my LSAT preparation performance. Julia is knowledgeable, patient, and professional. I appreciate how well she communicates the information, which shows what an amazing teacher she is, because she makes sure that I understand the information before moving forward. I am sincerely thankful to have found such an amazing tutor to help me pass the LSAT exam.
