I have 2 years' experience in delivering business writing training to corporates, and wish to share this expertise on SuperProf. Organisations with whom I've worked include Ernst & Young and numerous local authorities.
I also have experience of teaching journalism, both remotely and in the classroom.

Feature writing | I am a regular contributor to the following design publications and websites: Creative Review, Print, How, Digital Arts, Computer Arts and CreativePro. Computer titles and sites for whom I write include Macworld, Register Hardware, ITPro, Computing Which?, Mac Format, and iCreate. National newspapers to have used my writing include Education Guardian and Metro.

June 2005-November 2005 production editor, BBC Gardeners’ World Magazine | The production editor's role is vital to the publication, demanding the highest standards of sub-editing and creativity, while maintaining an onerous workflow of pages (in InDesign CS2). I managed a deputy production editor and senior sub-editor, as well as a pool of freelance sub-editors.
Jan 2003-June 2005 editor iPod User | iPod User is a bi-monthly newsstand computer magazine. My brief was to produce a top-quality publication as popular with advertisers as with readers, and within a closely monitored budget. I
June 2000-Dec 2003 managing editor, Macworld | Key tasks were line-managing Macworld’s production editor and sub-editor, and guaranteeing the efficient production of the magazine, while safeguarding the company’s stringent standards of editorial quality.
Jan 1997-June 2000 production editor, Macworld | Macworld is the leading monthly newsstand magazine for buyers and users of Macintosh hardware and compatible software. Skills included: flatplanning; man-managing staff and contributors past tight copy and art deadlines, both for Macworld and supplements.
Oct 1994-Jan 1997 deputy editor, Automobile Association editorial unit | My primary brief was producing the AA’s monthly staff newspaper – within budget and to tight web-offset printer deadlines.

May 1992-May 1993 foreign expert, China Daily, Beijing | China Daily is China’s only international English language newspaper. My work involved copy polishing and sub-editing.
Sept 1990-May 1992 deputy editor, Streetlife | A tabloid-style weekly free newspaper with three editions and a circulation of 185,000. My brief included running a three-man editorial team, sub-editing, layout and stone subbing. I edited the series in the absence of the editor.
Feb 1989-Sept 1990 reporter, Streetlife | My in-depth stories were regularly picked up by national media. One received a 10-minute slot on BBC 1’s primetime consumer show, That’s Life.
