About Jane
I have been sewing since a child and over the years have made clothes, soft furnishings, quilts, soft toys and bags. I qualified as a teacher and have taught ages 5-11 for 12 years. I decided to combine my two passions to be a teacher of sewing. My main love is patchwork and quilting which I can teach from a beginner's level. Within my sessions I will show you how to use colours for different effects and how to work with different fabrics and threads.

I am a friendly, patient Tutor and my lessons will always be fun and tailored to my client. I am a qualified teacher and sessions are well-planned and resourced, I have a current DBS certificate. The initial session for a beginner, a refresher or perhaps using a new machine will last 3 hours in your home. A sewing kit is included and the resources to make something to keep. A personalised notebook allows you to make notes if you wish. I will tailor the lesson to the participant(s) needs and will teach children as long as an adult is present. All you need is a working sewing machine and enthusiasm!

Perfect! Was a wonderful afternoon with a kind, encouraging and patient tutor. I felt l could ask Jane anything. The first free lesson with Jane will allow you to get to know each other and clearly specify your needs for your next lessons.

Details
The starter lesson is 3 hours at a cost of £75. For two participants it would be £100. However this gives each of you less individual tuition. I am willing to travel, but I would have to negotiate a price if I need to travel more than 25 miles (50 in total). Follow on lessons are charged at £25 per hour for individual lessons, £40 for two participants. For other sessions you may be interested in, please contact me directly.
