About Lucy
I am passionate about supporting young learners and helping them develop confidence in their abilities. I aim to create a calm, positive and encouraging learning environment where children feel comfortable, motivated and proud of their progress.
I am patient, approachable and committed to helping each child reach their full potential. I believe learning should be engaging and enjoyable, so I use a variety of activities to keep children interested and motivated throughout each session.
My goal is to help children feel more confident in their learning, develop independence and build strong foundations that will support them as they continue through school.

I offer engaging and supportive tutoring for children aged 5–7, covering Progression Step 1 and Progression Step 2 in Maths and English.
My approach focuses on building confidence while strengthening key skills in reading, writing and early maths. I use a range of teaching techniques including practical activities, games, visual resources and structured practice to keep lessons enjoyable and effective. I adapt each session to suit the child’s individual learning style and pace, ensuring they feel comfortable and supported while making progress.
Lessons typically last 1–2 hours, depending on the needs of the child and the preferences of the parent. During sessions, we focus on reinforcing school learning, practising key skills such as phonics, spelling, reading comprehension and number work, and addressing any areas where extra support is needed.
I hold a degree in Primary Education Studies and a PGCE, and I am currently teaching Progression Step 2 in a primary school. My experience in the classroom allows me to understand the current curriculum and the challenges some children may face, enabling me to provide targeted support that helps children build confidence and succeed in their learning.
My lessons are suitable for children aged 5–7 who may need extra support, want to build confidence in Maths and English, or would benefit from additional practice alongside their school learning.
