About Luke
- What kind of experience do you have?
I have been helping GCSE students with their maths for almost 10 years and gained my first experience working in schools over 7 years ago now. I have a great deal of experience in supporting and extending students' school work.

I'm a friendly maths tutor currently working on my PhD researching school effectiveness and improvement.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach secondary level maths up to GCSE.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
My first degree was at the University of Sheffield, where I specialised in both Structural Engineering and Architecture. I later trained as a secondary maths teacher at the University of Southampton, gaining their 1* Exceptional teaching award. I have now resumed my studies, completed my MA (Ed) and have just progressed onto the PhD programme having gained a Vice Chancellor's Scholarship up until 2019.
- How much do you charge?
I offer a free initial consultation lesson and my charge thereafter is £34/hour.
- Where do you teach?
I teach in the Southampton area, including Totton, Romsey, Chandlers Ford, Eastleigh, Hedge End, Netley Abbey and Hamble.
- When are you available?
I work in term time after school and into the evenings from 3:30pm onwards
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
I teach children up to 16 years old, specialising in secondary (11-16).
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
Up to GCSE level.
