My approach as a tutor is focused on making math clear and practical! I don’t just show students how to get the right answer, but I focus on helping them understand why the method works so they can apply it independently. I use step-by-step explanations, real-life examples, and active problem-solving where students talk through their thinking instead of just listening!
I don’t have too much tutoring experience, but I’d start a typical lesson with a quick check-in or review of previous material, followed by introducing a concept in a simple, relatable way. Then we work through guided examples together before transitioning to independent practice, where I give feedback and adjust based on the student’s needs. I also include test-taking strategies and college prep tips, especially for exams like the SAT or ACT, as someone who used to receive a lot of tips in the past if I do teach high school students
What sets me apart is my focus on patience, adaptability, and building confidence. I adjust my teaching style depending on how each student learns best and create a comfortable space where questions are encouraged. My lessons are made for elementary/middle school students focusing on easier level/algebra math!
