Every 50-minute in-person lesson for primary school students starts with a review of their latest homework or classwork. I then carefully mark their answers together with them, going through each mistake one by one, with me asking guided questions so the child discovers the right answer themselves. After that, we solve two similar problems as together, followed by the child explaining their thinking back to me in their own words. The final minutes include a small reward or high-five celebration.This step by step cycle of marking, guided correction, practice, and self explanation delivers consistent academic improvement.
