I’ve had the pleasure of receiving cello tuition from Rowena for just over a year. I’m new to Cello and in my 50’s, my only prior experience of stringed instruments is bass and acoustic guitar. I haven’t been reading music previously but playing by ear.

Rowena has patiently met me where I am in my musical journey, providing solid foundations in good technique and music theory.

With Rowena’s guidance , I was quickly able to move to playing simple classical pieces and duets whilst she reinforced the important foundations around posture, bow hold, fingering and importantly remembering to breathe!
