About Violet
I have 4 years of experience tutoring students in English. In my work as a private tutor for Ballarat families, I have helped students in their development of reading, spelling, speaking and writing (including text-response, argument analysis & creative).
I tutor students of all ages, from primary school to VCE level. VCE subjects include English (Literature), English (Mainstream) and Business Management. I have also worked with children who are sitting Scholarship Testing (Edutest) within their schools.
On a volunteer basis, I have tutored students through organisations including the Smith Family Children's Charity and the City of Ballarat. In these role, I have worked with students who speak English as a second language to develop their reading fluency and comprehension.
I also have experience working with children who have learning difficulties and impairments, including ASD and ADHD.

My name is Violet. I graduated from Ballarat Grammar School in 2020 with an ATAR of 97.8. I am now pursuing a Master of Teaching (Secondary) at Deakin University as a recipient of the Vice Chancellor's Scholarship, with methods in English and EAL.
I believe that successful tutoring comes from a supportive and patient environment. That's why my teaching philosophy is centered on ensuring that students feel comfortable in their learning. I tailor lesson plans specifically to you!
Whether I'm working with my students towards a specific test or to develop skills in general, it is important to ensure that a deeper understanding of the topic or task is achieved. That is why I always encourage my students to think deeply and ask questions.
