About Garrett
I am an experienced violin tutor with 11+ years of teaching practice and a strong record of teaching around 300 students from different backgrounds. I work with high school students, college learners, and adults, helping them build confidence and skill in violin playing.
My teaching philosophy is based on understanding each student’s needs and guiding them step by step. I focus on both technical skills and musical expression, making sure students not only play correctly but also enjoy the process. One of my notable achievements is helping many students overcome difficulties and reach their personal goals, whether it is learning a new piece or performing on stage. I aim to create a comfortable learning environment where students feel motivated, confident, and excited to learn music.

My teaching methodology is based on clear guidance and steady improvement. I help students understand violin concepts using simple examples and practical explanations. I focus on building a strong technical base by working on posture, bow control, finger accuracy, and scales.
I teach in a structured way but remain flexible based on each student’s progress. I make sure students understand each lesson before moving forward. I also create a positive environment where students feel comfortable learning and asking questions. I provide regular feedback and support their growth step by step. I follow honesty, discipline, and patience in my teaching. Apart from violin, I also teach music theory, rhythm training, and listening skills.
