About Dylan
I have been teaching in schools since 2009, but I offered tuition prior to this as a private tutor, a University German Tutor and an English Tutor to German students at a German university. As a school teacher I have had experience of delivering FCSEs in French and German, and the marking of FCSE exams, and I have taught the German GCSE exam syllabus, specifically working on the preparation for the writing exam controlled assessments and GCSE speaking tests with the students in my classes.

I have been working as a secondary school teacher, teaching mainly German, but also some French. I offer tuition in German for secondary school students and adults wanting to improve their language skills. I am interested in new ideas relating to the immersion approach to MFL. In recent years the Association for Language Learning (ALL) has set up FLAME, a new initiative to support CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) to support bilingual learning and teaching more in the target language after adequate student exposure. FLAME stands for “Future for Language as a Medium of Education”. I employ a range of differentiation techniques: differentiation by task, which involves setting different tasks for pupils of different abilities; differentiation by support, which means giving more help to certain pupils within the group and differentiation by outcome, which involves setting open-ended tasks and allowing pupil response at different levels to accommodate the different learning styles in the classroom.
