About Alanna
I am a portrait painter from Ireland who has recently moved to Glasgow to pursue a masters in painting at the Glasgow School of Art. I have been trained in drawing at the Royal Drawing School and specialise in life drawing, portrait painting with oil paint, using oil pastels, charcoal and have observational drawing.
I also hold a BA in art history and Visual culture and worked for two years in picture framing and art conservation. I can offer one to one art lessons to you or your child at beginner or second level going into third level.

I've known Alanna for over 20 years and drawing and painting has always been a part of her life. She's a practising artist, so understands how to bring a project to fruition and ready it for the public to see. She's also a very patient and relaxed teacher, so if you're a beginner you'll find her presence reassuring. She's an expert at what she does so she'll have a lot to teach you!
Alanna showed great patience and open-mindedness in teaching Charlotte techniques and encouraging her confidence. Her relaxed attitude and technical expertise was exactly what we were looking for in a tutor and Charlotte really enjoys her classes.
