About Avalon
I am dedicated to music education, particularly in the healthy development of young voices, and in widening access to music for young people of all backgrounds.
I am a trustee and co-founder of music education charity, Leicester MusicFest, which brings performance opportunities, workshops and concerts to the diverse community of Leicester.
Healthy vocal production is at the core of what I teach, and I use and endorse the model of Janice Chapman’s vocal pedagogy and Dr Morris’s clinical research on the voice.
I especially enjoy applying this in my role as singing teacher for the choristers and choral scholars of Leicester Cathedral, as well as working with changing voices in schools and private practice.
Dividing my time between teaching and performing myself, I also feel I keep growing as a musician and have fresh ideas to offer students over time.

I am a Mezzo-soprano and committed music educator, who enjoys a varied portfolio of singing work alongside teaching and outreach roles, including co-founding and running the music education charity, Leicester MusicFest.
I teach one-to-one music lessons in schools and work with the choristers at Leicester Cathedral.
Privately, I offer lessons in singing, trumpet and music theory to students of all ages and abilities, tailoring my approach to suit the needs of each pupil; this could include graded exams such as ABRSM, preparing for a performance or audition, or simply singing for fun!
I teach classical, musical theatre, pop and jazz, to ages 8+ and all ability levels.
I hold a masters in performance from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and divide my time between performance work and teaching.
