About Heejun
I am a UBC student working on the introductory algebraic topology and category theory with Dr. Paul Tsopméné; I have a strong background in mathematical analysis, continuous optimization, and mathematical physics. I am familiar with MATLAB and Python; I have extensively used LaTeX to format documents.
I have been working as a teaching assistant at UBC for calculus (MATH 100, 116, 142) and number theory (MATH 312). I was a volunteer lecturer in Hamyang Girls’ Middle School as a part of the KOSAF Educational Outreach Program back in South Korea.
Four years of private tutoring experience as I started tutoring since first year. I am comfortable with presentations; I have experience of a talk in the CMPS Undergraduate Research Conference about variational analysis.
I am awarded the Bauschke Family Mathematical Analysis Prize for the highest standing in the analysis courses. I am fully funded for the four years of university studies from KOSAF (up to 60K USD/year).

My main goal of tutoring is to let people understand and rigorously analyze problems they do not know how or where to start. I will journey with them.
Lessons depend on people's preferences. It could be learning problem-solving techniques; it could be rigorous proofs.
Topics include, but are not limited to,
all middle school to high school math and physics;
calculus I-V, linear algebra, ODEs and PDEs, introductory number theory and abstract algebra, mathematical analysis, continuous optimization;
classical mechanics, statistical mechanics, electromagnetism, quantum mechanics, mathematical physics;
Introduction to Statistics and Probability.
