My Teaching Method
I focus on building understanding, not just getting through homework. Rather than handing over answers, I walk through problems step-by-step so students see the reasoning behind each solution — that way they can apply it independently on tests and future assignments. For English, I emphasize clear structure and strong arguments, helping students see writing as a skill they can systematically improve, not just something they're "good" or "bad" at.
A Typical Lesson
Quick check-in on what's confusing right now (homework, upcoming test, recent grade)
Review the underlying concept with examples, not just the specific problem
Practice similar problems together, with me stepping back as they gain confidence
Wrap up with a short recap and a couple of practice problems for them to try independently
For English/writing sessions: review a draft together, discuss what's working, and revise line-by-line where needed
