I am currently a sixth form student studying maths A level about to finish my second year and plan on doing a maths degree at university Brunel or Hertfordshire. I teach students according to their specific needs so content assessment is needed before starting lessons.
I have just over 1 year experience tutoring Maths ages 5-17 and English ages 4-14 at a Kip McGrath Tuition centre. I have tried 3 other places within this time frame to see if I liked the different environments better but I stuck to Kip McGrath. This means that I have a broad understanding of different children's learning needs for people of a wide age range. I also have experience working with children who have English as their second language, have dyslexia, and ADHD as I was trained at Kipgrath to adhere to different students needs. I feel that the most rewarding part of teaching has been seeing each child grow academically and build a love for learning. Their grades improving gave them a lot more confidence and improved their overall work ethic. As they see improvement they start doing more and asking for extra work and that was really nice to see that they wanted me personally to teach them these things or help guide them in a way that they could he independent about it.
I will only travel around Luton but students are welcome to have lessons in my home or on webcam too.
I have 10 GCSEs A*-C including an A* in maths and B in English Language.
I have 3 As levels including a B in Mathematics and am Predicted an A at the end of my second year which is almost finished.
I plan on studying Maths at university and I have over a year experience tutoring in Kip McGrath Tuition Centre. I also have bits of experience from other centres like Hockwell ring, and Zennith as I wanted to try different centres on different days to working at Kip McGrath to see if I enjoyed one of the others better. I stuck to Kip McGrath.
I have never been been played to do personal one to one tutoring as I have always tutored younger siblings and children of family and friends and wouldn't charge a loved one. Due to this I've never really had time to look for payed work as a personal tutor but now that many of my previous students have either successfully passed their GCSE Maths qualification with a higher grade than they were expecting, and younger students are now independent and no longer need my support; I have lots of time beside my studies.
