About Elsie
My name is Elsie, and I am a fourth-year Mathematics and Physics MSc student at the University of Bath, currently on track for a first class degree (81%). I have been tutoring GCSE and A-level Maths, Further Maths, and Physics since my second year of study, and more recently have supported undergraduate students in selected Mathematics and Physics modules.
I tutor both in person for students based in Bath and online. I am familiar with multiple exam boards and use exam-board-specific resources to ensure students understand both the subject content and how to maximise marks in assessments.
I take a clear, structured, and supportive approach to tutoring, and I find it very rewarding to see tutees proud of their progress.

My approach to tutoring is tailored to each student. I teach at GCSE, A-level, and undergraduate level, and adapt lessons to different exam boards, learning styles, and goals.
In the first session (or over messages beforehand), I focus on understanding what the student wants to work on, how they learn best, and what resources or syllabus they are following. From there, lessons are structured but flexible, and may include worked examples, guided problem-solving, exam-style questions, or clear explanations of key concepts.
Lessons typically last one hour. I offer both in-person tutoring in and around Bath and online sessions.

Elsie is an incredibly patient and non-judgemental person, and will take her time explaining anything you are struggling with. She’s helped me out with some statistics course works I was struggling with at University and made sure to illustrate everything using simple terms, as stats is something that I am not great at!
