I have just finished my mathematics course, predicted a 1st class degree at the University of Sheffield and I am looking to give lessons to students doing either GCSEs or A-levels in mathematics. I can explain in detail parts of the subject the student is struggling on and also help improve the areas they are already good at to make sure they get the best grades they can. I will use methods that are easy to remember which helped me get through school with A*'s and A's.
I am new to tutoring, but over the years I have helped friends when they are struggling which made them understand things better as a different view on things often makes it clearer to grasp the concept. Last year, I helped teach a friend the majority of their A-level mathematics module at university who struggled to understand a lot as they did not do mathematics in sixth form and after going through each section with them every week, they managed to get a first in that module.
A mature and responsible third year university student studying Mathematics BSc at the University of Sheffield. I believe I can help students who are struggling in maths as I have spent years studying the subject and have picked up many tricks that could make it easier for people to understand.
My teaching methods will involve individually going through each part of the course, explaining and giving practice questions to the student as we go along. I can focus on specific sections for the harder parts or give general lessons to help improve their overall capabilities. I will need to know the exam board and the name of the module the student needs help with before the lesson so that I can make notes and key points in order to work as efficiently as possible.
