About Trevenen
I have a degree in Mathematics from the University of Exeter and have worked over the last 4 years as a maths tutor both professionally and as a volunteer. I have A-levels in Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Chemistry. I have an enhanced DBS check.
Being neurodivergent myself, I understand the unique challenges neurodivergent students face and I know how to cater lessons to their specific needs so that they can reach their full potential.
When I'm not teaching maths, you can usually find me at the gym, acting on screen or learning languages.

During our first lesson I will ask you how you feel about maths, what you would like to accomplish and how you like to learn. I want all of my pupils to feel in charge when it comes to their learning journey.
During a typical lesson; I will demonstrate and explain a topic, we will then cover some questions together and when you feel ready, you can try some progressively harder problems with my help, having a focus on building your confidence and skillset.
Fortunately, many marks may be earned by simply following exam techniques and so I will be sure to show how to squeeze every last mark from questions.
I like to employ the use of analogies when teaching as I find my students can often connect better with 'real world' examples, e.g. cancelling your Spotify subscription and finding more money in your bank account is the same as taking away a negative number and the final answer being bigger.

Recommendations come from relatives, friends and acquaintances of the teacher
I have known Trevenen for a number of years, having been introduced to him through his sister, who was a trusted work colleague. He tutored my daughter who was struggling with maths at GCSE level, and helped her gain confidence and engage with concepts that she had previously found difficult. Tutoring was done online, and my daughter found him easy to talk to and helpful, and she looked forward to the sessions. She is still working towards GCSEs this year and I have no doubt his tutoring will help her attain a higher grade.
I have always found Trevenen to be an intelligent, well spoken and thoughtful person, and have no hesitation in recommending him as a tutorView more recommendations
