About William
Hello, I’m a dedicated Mathematics tutor with a Bachelor of Sciences in Mathematics from the University of Warwick and top-tier (UK) A-Level results (A* in Mathematics and Further Mathematics; A in Physics and Chemistry). Over the past two years, I’ve volunteered more than 60 hours tutoring students at GCSE and A-Level, helping them build strong conceptual foundations and achieve their academic goals. Alongside that, I have worked as an actuarial analyst at Willis Towers Watson for retirements and pensions. All in all, I am passionate about academia and consistently focused on striving for excellence.
I prepare structured lesson plans, arrive punctually, and maintain open communication with students. I can provide worked examples and exercises that are relevant to your academic growth. In addition, I can offer my experience in achieving success in your exams and all future academic endeavours.

I believe that Mathematical processes are grasped through fully understanding the foundational principles and iterative practice. My lessons will be structured around this.
1. Understanding the Foundation: We begin by understanding the procedure of a calculation and the methodology behind basic questions for any new topic.
2. Expanding Knowledge to Challenging Problems: Once the basics are secure, we expand that knowledge to purposefully difficult questions designed to make you think critically about the solution.
3. Repetition Across Subtopics: We repeat this process for all subtopics within a broader subject area, ensuring comprehensive coverage and understanding.
4. Guided Mixed Practice: I then provide guided practice sessions that involve a mixture of questions from previously covered subtopics.
5. Independent Practice and Review: This allows students to consolidate their learning and identify areas for further improvement.
I have over 60 hours of volunteer tutoring experience, which has provided me with invaluable insights into common student difficulties and effective teaching strategies. My Bachelor of Sciences in Mathematics from the University of Warwick has provided me with a deep and thorough understanding of mathematical principles. This academic rigor allows me to not only teach the 'how' but also the fundamental 'why,' enabling students to truly grasp the subject.
