About Aggie
I'm a Mathematics graduate from the University of Nottingham so I have a strong background knowledge of maths and how it all links together. This is helpful to you, as a student, as I'm able to explain the "why" in addition to the "how" in a way that's appropriate for your level of understanding. This helps many students to "connect the dots" and relate mathematical skills to their pre-existing understanding of the world. I'm also autistic, which means I have first-hand experience of learning difficulties and additional support needs. This means that I strive to create an inclusive, non-judgemental and positive learning environment to ensure that my students feel comfortable to explore maths in a way that's most comfortable for them.

Through my extensive research working with students with Dyscalculia, I'm able to identify where the foundational gaps in understanding lie and fill them through the use of a range of learning support techniques and teaching strategies. In an hour-long session, I begin with a mathematical problem at the level which the student is working towards (from Primary level, to GCSE level and everything in between) to explore their thinking process and challenges in mathematical reasoning. From there, we can take as many steps back as necessary to figure out where the missing link lies and explore it until the student has a solid understanding of it so we can build on it until they're confident in the topic they're struggling with.

Agnieszka's tutoring style is extremely flexible. She adapts her style based on the difficulty of the topics and how well I understand them. When I don't understand something, Agnieszka finds a simple way to help me grasp concepts in a way that sticks with me. Practice questions given are relevant and helpful, and she works through them with me thoroughly.
