About Ben
I’m a patient, approachable tutor who believes learning works best when students feel supported and confident. I enjoy helping students make sense of topics that may have felt confusing or intimidating before, and I place a strong emphasis on clear explanations and steady progress. I don’t expect students to “just get it” straight away — my job is to explain ideas in a way that makes them click, and to adapt how I teach to suit how you learn. I have a background in Mathematics and Economics and currently work as a Data Scientist with a Dublin-based firm and a polling company. I have experience working with students of different ages and levels, including learners with English as an additional language. In lessons, I aim to keep things structured but relaxed, with plenty of opportunities to ask questions and practice new skills. Whether you’re preparing for exams or building confidence in a subject, my goal is to help you understand the material properly and feel more confident using it on your own.

My approach to tutoring is structured, student-centred, and focused on building both confidence and understanding. I aim to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and engaging actively with the material. Lessons are carefully paced and tailored to the student’s level, with concepts broken down into clear, logical steps. I use a mix of explanation, guided questioning, and practice-based learning, placing emphasis on understanding why methods work rather than rote memorisation. Depending on the topic, I incorporate examples, visual aids, and real-world analogies to reinforce learning and keep students engaged.
Lessons typically last for 60 minutes, depending on the student’s age, concentration level, and goals. I have a strong academic background in Mathematics and Economics from Trinity College Dublin and experience tutoring both individual students and small groups. I have worked with students at secondary level and above, adapting my teaching style to suit different abilities and learning needs. My lessons are aimed at students who want clear explanations, structured support, and steady progress.
