I begin by reading the whole syllabus to then produce a timetable of when topics should be covered by. I then gauge what level the student is at and build towards their target grade.
Each lesson will consist of aims that should be met by the end of the session with a summary of what was learnt when finishing the session.
After the syllabus is covered, I then go through past papers the student has attempted to work on specific questions or topics that seem difficult.
I am a third year university student studying Mathematics and Philosophy at Oxford Brookes.
I have previously taught 3 students with one to one sessions in preparation for their GCSE maths exam.
Two achieved A's and one achieved a C at Foundation level.
During my time at secondary school I found that tutoring students who find maths particularly difficult is most rewarding.
