About Roger
I always enjoyed maths, and studied it at Cambridge. I got a first in Part 1. but spent the other two years on a Part 2 in philosophy. For a year I taught maths in a secondary school, but then went down a different route and and have spent my life as a Church of England vicar. I retired recently, and as I still love maths, I am now offering tutoring, and I'm fully up to speed with the A-level and GCSE curriculum.
Over the years I have helped quite a few people with maths or other subjects. My best success was with a 16 year old who had just got an Unclassified at AS level. I said he could come round once a week, and a year later he got a grade A at A2 level and went to university. Maths is perfect for one-to-one tutoring, You can focus right in on a topic, and make sure the student truly grasps it before moving on. Quite quickly it all becomes becomes manageable and enjoyable.
Universities - Cambridge - MA, Maths and Philosophy, then Oxford - MA, Theology
School - A Levels in Maths and Further Maths, Physics and English [all grade A]
