About Mihir
I am Hard working, determined and a flexible professional with over 30 years of teaching experience and more than 5000+ hours of tutoring experience. I have the ability to deliver my lessons in a motivating and engaging way to promote learning and bring out the best in every pupil, no matter their capability. Able to inspire ideas, enthusiasm and commitment to ensure the success of my students and to make sure they fulfil their potential. Along with my passion, confidence and friendly nature. I teach Maths showing students its Application in Real-Life, to which students then start enjoying the learning as they see a purpose of learning Maths.
I always have the highest expectations of pupils and always have had, even when it was fashionable for learning to be more "child centred". This is an approach I have found to pay rich dividends in terms of a pupil's academic and personal development. have a great deal of experience in teaching mathematics in both the Independent and State school sectors. I prepare pupils for entrance examinations to Public and Independent schools and SATS for State schools. I also tutor pupils in mathematics GCSE and A Level examinations with AQA, OCR and Edexcel examination boards. I also teach students internationally – currently India (International IGCSE Maths). I have been told that my approach to teaching makes it enjoyable for my students as I am considered patient and very approachable. I also know how to take the anxiety out of challenging topics in different areas of mathematics ranging from algebra, pre-calculus, trigonometry, and calculus.
Fulfilling students potential in learning and achieving in Maths, is my Passion. I have been supporting students over several years to achieve best possible results in their GCSE and A Level Mathematics examinations. The following is an evidence to it.
“Many of my students have achieved 99% scores in the past years, but in the year 2022, two of my students got 97% and 98% scores in their IGCSE Maths exam and both of them got 100% score in their Further Maths exams at Level 2”.

Your techniques and teaching methodology
- In the beginning of the lesson, I would establish student’s prior knowledge of the topic by giving 2, 3 questions and assess the work. Then I shall start delivering the concept, using a Mathematical Software. Having the experience of teaching more than 30 years, I would explain the concept in an easy, understandable method. Also, since I am an examiner, I stress a lot of importance of laying out the work (writing steps) to the students, guiding to achieve full scores. This approach motivates students as it pushes students to work at a higher level constantly during the lesson which is followed by a piece of HW – to practice the skills learnt during the lesson thereafter, which is marked by me and feedback provided for improvement.
• • Typical length of a lesson
- My typical lesson lasts from 1 hour upto 2 hours. This duration helps students to understand the concept and practice questions, as well as gives me, as their tutor, an opportunity to check their learning, students ability and confidence level to solve questions, revisit any areas which are required and also to provide a Challenge/Extension tasks to ABLE AND TALENTED students.
• Your qualifications/experience as a tutor
I gained a Masters in Mathematics in 1992 and after several years working in various Secondary schools in India and from 2002 in the U.K., I formally qualified as a Teacher in 2012 with a PGCE in teaching Mathematics. I have been both teaching and tutoring for more than 30 years.
My mission is to empower as many people to reach required standards in Mathematics ranging from Primary to A levels.

I have been doing ONLINE TUTORING too, for more than 6 years now– country wide, teaching students from London, Manchester, Liverpool, Edinburgh. My students have gone to do Medicine, Economics, Engineering, Maths at various Universities like London School of Economics, Cambridge, Imperial, Warwick, Leeds, Durham, Bristol, Keel etc.
I have been supporting students over several years to achieve best possible results in their GCSE and A Level Mathematics examinations. The following is an evidence to it.
