I pride myself on my very personal method for teaching students. I like to keep an eye on the course structure comprehensively, but I acknowledge that within any course students' skills with modules will vary. I check any student's aptitude at a subject by going through a few questions with them, and will cyclically teach them and practice with them until I feel like their strength is sufficient. Then the next subject can be moved onto.
I love studying mathematics and sharing my love for the subject with current students is one of my greatest passions. I might be young but I am an experienced tutor: I helped struggling students in my year and the year below pass their maths A-levels with hour-long weekly sessions, and I have volunteered to work during college in weekly classes with year 10 students. Currently, I am on a gap year before studying maths at a top university. I finished my A-levels last year, in which I achieved an A* in mathematics and an A in further mathematics, which proceeded my A* GCSE and Further Standard Maths Qualification results.
Elliswick LTC | Sep 2015 – Jul 2018
In this position, I was involved with assisting and occasionally leading teaching tennis to people of every age category. The most significant change I undertook was my communication skills, with the children and adults that I was coaching. I was forced to transfer knowledge and to adapt when leadership skills were required.
Customer Service Assistant
J Sainsbury PLC | Sep 2018 – Present
Working in a variety of roles in a convenience store and petrol station has taught me to communicate with other team members and to understand the relationship that a provider of a service and a customer have. At my role I have been forced to exert high levels of vitality for hours on end, becoming part of an award-winning team in 2018.
Anglican Country Inns | Jan 2019 – Present
By working behind a bar and as a waiter, I have discovered a different perspective on relationships with customers. I feel that I am now able to deliver more energetic and friendly interactions with customers in formal or informal settings. I have had to adapt and improvise more widely than I had anticipated, and I am fundamentally better at working in a proactive way.
