About Bert
I am a 24 year old student pursuing a career in teaching. I have been tutoring for 5 years for pupils preparing for 11+/GCSE/Scholarship exams, with a track record of achieving excellent progress in a short time. I have finished studying Classics at the University of St Andrews, and am currently applying for a Mathematics Degree at the University of Southampton. Whilst at St Andrews I gave a great deal of help to friends studying Maths, even though it wasn't my actual degree.

My teaching method is relaxed and personal, with a goal each class of the student recognising the progress they have made. There is a clear aim with each class, whether it be a particular topic or practice paper, and should the student surpass this, I grow their confidence by tackling a more difficult problem. The biggest issue I find most students have is lacking the fundamental belief that they can perform well at a particular subject. I aim to change that.
