About Linda
Qualified teacher with experience teaching children and young adults who struggle with Maths and other subjects.
Currently part of the National Tutor Programme teaching small groups in a Barnsley secondary school.
I like to use real life objects and situations that are relevant to my students.
I encourage active learning, problem solving and reflection, so children can realise that maths is actually relevant and relates to concrete experiences.

My teaching method is active and experiential - encouraging the student to be relaxed and confident, to experiment and take the initiative. To manipulate objects, try different possibilities and use their native intelligence.
I use models, pictures, craft materials and things you can find in the home to explain and practice the lesson. I try to link the learning goals to real life and their own interests.
I'm very flexible in how I teach and can adapt what I'm doing on the spur of the moment.
