About Khadija
Hi, I'm Khadija - I've always believed in aiming for the impossible until it becomes possible!
Throughout my life, I've often been told that a goal of mine is unrealistic, but with hard work and the right strategies I've achieved them anyway. Whether that's A* grades at A level after once being told I would never get higher than a B, becoming national chair of the BMA Medical Students Committee, or designing and running an original research project for my Master's that produced a successful app design for healthcare - I've learnt that determination paired with purposeful action makes anything attainable.
I really want to pass on that same confidence to you as a student. I believe in you, and I have the experience and methods to help you achieve whatever you set your mind to!

My teaching style is centred around maximising the potential of each individual student and solidifying knowledge in their minds. I don't believe in settling for any less than your dream grade/result, no matter what teachers might have told you!
I myself achieved A*s at A level, despite being told once I would never get higher than a B!
I have coached medical students who went from failing OSCEs to excelling, and coached PLAB takers to take them from failed attempts to a pass.
I work backwards from the exam - understanding what is needed for the model answer or exceptional grade, and then teaching the precise knowledge and technique to achieving it.
I believe in spaced repetition and memorisation, increasing the student's confidence by consolidating all information learnt. I also adapt my teaching styles to the student in front of me, using a variety of techniques from flashcards, to problem solving, flow charts and repeating exam questions.
Typical length of a session = 60 - 90 mins, I believe little but often is optimal for focused retention.
Qualifications & experience:
I am a UK-trained medical doctor (MBChB) with a Distinction in my Master’s in Health Sciences Research (MRes).
Throughout medical school, I tutored online for several years and have a track record of taking students from lower grades to As/A*s!
I also have experience in:
• Teaching medical students in clinical reasoning & pharmacology
• Designing case-based learning materials used in medical curricula
• Delivering teaching on migrant health & health inequalities
• Running peer-to-peer academic teaching on clinical topics
• Winning an Early Career Prize (British Pharmacological Society) for contributions to prescribing education
• Published papers in BMC Medicine, The Doctor, the BMJ
• English language coaching e.g. IELTs, OET and PLAB support
This background has given me strong skills in explaining complex content clearly, adapting to different learning levels, and helping students build confidence in both scientific understanding and applied logic.

• GCSE & A-Level students (A Level = Biology, Chemistry, English Literature, History. GCSE = also Maths, English Language, Physics)
• Medical students - I can assist with finals/OSCE prep and PLAB takers
• Students preparing for medical school interviews/ admissions tests (I have extensive experience in admissions support)
• English language learners - I have previously coached for IELTs and OET
