I'm a third year medical student at the University of Leeds, and I teach biology at GCSE and A level. I really enjoyed biology at school, securing an A* at GCSE and A level, and I love to help students understand the fundamental concepts to make biology interesting and intuitive, rather than a rote-learning exercise.
I've tutored online for a year and my students say they have enjoyed my lessons and significantly improved their grades.
I like to teach by reviewing what the student understands already and making clear the aims of each lesson to make sure we meet the desired target. I use past paper questions, quizzes and memory aids to help students remember and apply what they've learnt in exam situations. I am flexible, adapting my teaching style based on what students respond to best, and my previous students have found me friendly, caring and patient.

Perfect! I can't recommend Umamah enough. She has a fantastic teaching manner, is professional and engaging, and, takes a lot of time/effort to plan each lesson. My daughter has really enjoyed her tutorials and we look forward to continuing with Umamah next year (Biology 'A' Level).
- Incredibly conscientious, engaged and motivated student. Really enjoyed teaching her!Umamah's response :
