About Graham
Greetings! I am a Mumbai-raised, London-based Teacher and coach. It's great to speak to you through the writing of this bio and I hope you find it interesting.
I am deeply passionate, charismatic, and hopeful person, rather romantic over everything that carries purpose and beauty with it in this world. I have always been associated with the subject of Voice and Speech since my infancy. I grew up with a debilitating stammer and overcame it at age 8, I went on to be a performer and public speaker and got on the professional stage at 15. There was no turning back from there; I started teaching voice and speech professionally from the age of 17 to people of all ages and across the globe. I am epileptic, I love a good chat or an evening at the theatre, I thrive in my own company, and hear music in the pauses of life. I confess that I understand the world 85% through what I hear and 15% through what I see.
My life's greatest passions are Voice and Speech, Literature, Music and Football. I am a devoted Liverpool Supporter. However, I enjoy football also from a strategic and tactical perspective, and much of that seeps into the way I teach.
My favourite movie is The King's Speech (I'm sure you guessed that already)
My favourite musician is Stevie Wonder and the song that describes me best is Beethoven's Emperor Concerto: 2nd Movement.
My top writers are George Orwell, Oscar Wilde, and George Bernard Shaw. The book that changed my life forever was Animal Farm.
I hope the above gives you a taster of who I am - if it garners your interest, get in touch! I assure you a rewarding time of learning together!

I have over 12 years of experience as a professional teacher and coach, teaching at some of the best institutions in the world at the highest levels and providing definitive education on a private level. I hold an MFA in Voice Studies: Teaching and Coaching from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama and I am a certified Vocal Manual Therapist from the Voice Care Centre, London. I have also worked extensively on Stammers (Stutters) Lisps and patients with Mild Strokes - as well as underprivileged people in Mumbai for over 3 years. My work with the voice goes back to when I was a child, having overcome my stammer and now working with various branches of the spoken voice. People around the world and across professions have trusted me with their voices.
My lessons are tailored for you - provided you are above the age of 13 (I have an enhanced DBS) and you seek to develop your voice as an actor or speaker, overcome a speech challenge, understand the workings of the voice, dive into literature, and speak the written word or specifically find your voice and understand your relationship with it. All levels are welcome.
Listening to the person in front of me is paramount whether this is through a teaching session or a protocol of Manual Therapy. My teaching style is largely based on what I instinctively receive from listening to the student I work with, however in technique, the application to my work is varied and eclectic. I draw from the teachings of Cicely Berry, Barbara Houseman, David Carey, Michael McCallion, Christina Shewell, Kristin Linklater, Jane Boston, John Barton, Patsy Rodenburg, Elsie Fogerty, Eric Franklin, Jacob Lieberman, Arnold Aronson, Robert Price, and Colin Farquharson.
I ensure that my approach is inclusive and attentive to people's different learning styles and that people have a visual, theoretical, and sometimes, a sonic accompaniment to their study.
The length of each lesson can range between 1 hour to 1 hour and 15 minutes depending on content completion. The additional 15 minutes is not charged for as it is on me.
