About Waratah
Nō Ngāti Whātua, Hāmoa, me Ahitareira tēnei. E mahi ana ahau mo tōku iwi ki Tāmaki Makaurau kia whakatū kura. I tipu ake ahau ki te Kaipara. Kua haere au Waipapa Taumata Rau mo ngā tau maha. Kua ruku ahau i ngā tai o tōku ao Māori. Kei kōnei ahau ki te tautoko i te hunga hiakai mō tō tātou ao. Come learn te reo Māori in a welcoming, relaxed space with a current rūmaki teacher. I love working with beginners and intermediate learners, and we’ll explore te reo through a mix of mahi that connects language to culture and everyday life. You’ll get to practice karakia, learn waiata, and engage in wānanga of tikanga that complement your language learning. My approach is practical and suits your learning style, so you’ll not only build your reading, writing, and oratory skills, but also gain a deeper understanding of the customs and values that go hand in hand with te reo. Lessons are adaptable to your needs, and my goal is to make learning enjoyable, meaningful, and something you can carry into your daily life.
