Hi, I’m Jana - yoga and movement therapist and mindfulness facilitator from Estonia. I’ve been practising yoga and meditation for more than 8 years, coming from hatha yoga background and enriching it with therapy methods, secular mindfulness practices and my academic background in mental health, nutrition and public health. My approach is a combination of traditions and modern science, which allows me to deliver efficient, safe and sustainable practice.
My specialisation is yoga therapy, which means I tailor my classes to a goal or health condition(s) the student may have to improve health and wellbeing with a particular focus at mental health. I also teach hatha yoga, vinyasa, yin or restorative yoga, although, usually my classes are the mix of many styles and approaches, including yoga and embodiment methods, mindfulness and meditation, counselling and other non-yoga techniques.
I usually teach 1- or 1,5-hour classes, individually or in groups, I can teach both online or face-to-face (outdoor or at your place). We can choose one focus (either yoga or mediation) or have a mix of them. The exact structure of the classes depends on each student, we can have more gentle classes to relieve stress and calm the mind or we can have an intense practice to tone the body. There is also possible to have a workshop-like session with discussions about yoga philosophy or mindfulness.
Classes are suitable for everyone - from beginners to advanced practitioners. You don't need to be religious or flexible in order to start:)
I also offer nutrition and health counselling if you want to lose, gain or maintain weight, improve your eating habits or become more physically active.
As a yoga therapist and adaptive physical activity instructor, I work with a wide range of health problems starting from spinal discs herniation and injuries to asthma or amenorrhea.
As a mindfulness facilitator, I work with stress management, including emotional reactivity, anxiety, panic attacks, sleep problems and other stress-related issues. It is also possible to adapt the practice to individual inquiries such as improving concentration and memory, working on creativity or improving relationships or confidence.
I’ve done various of yoga-, mindfulness- and health-related courses and trainings, worked as a research assistant in yoga and mindfulness study at Victoria University in Australia and currently involved in writing a research paper on mediation and yoga in collaboration with academics from different fields.
My rates are £50 per online-class and £5-10 to cover my travel costs if we practice face-to-face.
I offer 10% off for 5+ classes and 20% for 10+ classes as a thank you to those who are willing to commit their time regularly in order to improve their life and health.
I do NOT offer the first lesson for free, though I do offer free video-call before the initial class for those who prefer to meet beforehand and discuss goals and expectations (usually around 15-25 minutes).

I very much enjoyed practicing yoga with Jana. Each of our one-on-one sessions was individually tailored; most were relatively gentle - to relieve stress and anxiety - but Jana also incorporated more dynamic elements. On the latter, she knows a particularly interesting, and challenging, game that you can play with a humble block!
It was obvious that Jana is a well qualified able to draw on a wide range of experience across disciplines. Would not hesitate to recommend.
