Duration : 5 days - Price : £30.00 - Place : Pont-iets (SA15 5SN)Taking the student through all the Montessori math learning materials from birth to 9 years. Using a series of online video presentations accompanied by downloadable powerpoint presentations and notes. The tutorials will be on demand. You will need a Skype account. The course is set at a Diploma level and a certificate of completion will be issued to successful students. Assessment is ongoing and teh student will have to demonstrate that they have mastered the use of the materials and the philosophy, psychology and pedagogical theory behind the use of the materials.
Course setup
I have been in teaching for over 30 years. I have been lecturing at colleges of further education and at University level. I also started my own centre for the Montessori Method of Education. I have taught hundreds of students and the majority have gone on to degree level.
Providing training in the Montessori method of education. Providing training in the Foundation Phase (Wales) and the Foundation Stage (England). Providing a consultancy service for public and private sector nurseries and schools wishing to improve literacy and numeracy. Working with schools, FE colleges and universities lecturing on nursery and primary education in particular literacy and numeracy reforms.

1990 / 1992: Romanian Angel Appeal. London and Romania
Aid Worker: Working as part of a multidisciplinary team established by the Director of The Royal College of Nursing. Establishing a play and education programme in the institutions of Romania. Responsible for introducing The Portage Method of Education into the institutions. Assessing the needs of institutionalised children and adults with H.I.V. / Aids. Establishing a community clinic providing care and education for families, specifically targeting H.I.V. infected children and adults. Liaising with the Romanian Ministry for Health and Education to implement training and education programmes for teachers and nurses. Directly providing care and education for children within the city hospital and orphanage. Training teachers within the institutions. Giving public talks on the work of the organisation and attending meetings with international aid teams of Non Governmental Organisations.
