Course setup

I have been in teaching for over 30 years. I have been lecturing at colleges of further education and at University level. I also started my own centre for the Montessori Method of Education. I have taught hundreds of students and the majority have gone on to degree level.

Providing training in the Montessori method of education. Providing training in the Foundation Phase (Wales) and the Foundation Stage (England). Providing a consultancy service for public and private sector nurseries and schools wishing to improve literacy and numeracy. Working with schools, FE colleges and universities lecturing on nursery and primary education in particular literacy and numeracy reforms.

2012: Redhill Preparatory School

Educational Consultant & Class Teacher, Key stage 1 and 2

Providing education in all subject areas to a class of children aged between 5 and 7 years of age. Training staff and reforming the structure of provision from nursery level to junior level in the school. Reporting directly to the head of school on a daily basis with the aim of providing a hand over to incoming and existing staff.

2008: Freelance Professional Photographer

Providing images for the Welsh tourism industry. Establishing my own professional studio. Providing images for journalism and advertising. Creating websites and social network sites for business.

2006 / 2008: Trinity College Carmarthen

Lecturer: Lecturing on education and related subjects. Preparing and presenting lectures and notes for BA students. Giving public talks on education and related subjects. Liaising with other staff to deliver high quality teaching for students. Offering guidance and support for students with specific learning difficulties. One to one support for specific students encountering severe learning difficulties.

1994 / 1999: Hill House International Junior School, Knightsbridge, London

Teacher: Providing education for children with Specific Learning Difficulties. Responsible for the screening of children within the school. Working individually and as part of a team, writing reports for parents, teachers and other related agencies. Liaising with other agencies to provide the best possible service for students with Sp.L.D. Establishing and improving a support network for teachers, parents and students. Constructing and implementing teaching programmes. Class teacher for 20 children providing teaching in all subject areas.

1992 / 1994: Holland Park School House, Kensington, London

Teacher in Charge: Providing care and education for 36 children aged three to nine years old. Following The Montessori Method of education. Responsible for the day to day running of the school. Key worker role to individual children. Writing reports for parents and schools and attending planning meetings.

1990 / 1992: Romanian Angel Appeal. London and Romania

Aid Worker: Working as part of a multidisciplinary team established by the Director of The Royal College of Nursing. Establishing a play and education programme in the institutions of Romania. Responsible for introducing The Portage Method of Education into the institutions. Assessing the needs of institutionalised children and adults with H.I.V. / Aids. Establishing a community clinic providing care and education for families, specifically targeting H.I.V. infected children and adults. Liaising with the Romanian Ministry for Health and Education to implement training and education programmes for teachers and nurses. Directly providing care and education for children within the city hospital and orphanage. Training teachers within the institutions. Giving public talks on the work of the organisation and attending meetings with international aid teams of Non Governmental Organisations.
