Every student has a preferred approach when it comes to learning and for each student I tailor my approach to match this. In the first tutoring session I work with students to establish their goals and we then discuss a plan to achieve these goals, preferred learning styles and approaches are an important part of this discussion. In these early sessions, the techniques I use to understand a persons goals and learning styles are the same which I have used in my time as a career coach and business psychologist - expertise and flexibility are assured!
I graduated in 2013 with a first class honours degree in Psychology and followed this up with a Masters degree in Occupational Psychology. Whilst at university I tutored first year Psychology students alongside their lectures to help with the adjustment to self-directed study and university-level education. Since graduating university I have continued to tutor, most recently as a volunteer with the Access Project (a charity working with bright students from disadvantaged backgrounds, providing personalised tuition, to help them gain access to top universities).
