About Vish

Hi, I’m Vish, and I’m passionate about helping children build confidence, develop independence, and discover their strengths.

I’m an MSc Psychology graduate with 3 years’ experience as a Teaching Assistant across SEN and mainstream schools. I currently work as a Therapy Assistant within NHS community services, supporting adults with a range of developmental and additional needs.

My experience includes working with children with Autism and PMLD, using play, creative activities and structured learning to encourage communication, attention, social skills and everyday independence.

I believe children learn best when they feel safe, understood and encouraged. I adapt my approach to each child, taking into account their interests, abilities and sensory needs, while keeping sessions enjoyable and engaging.

My aim is to create a positive space where children can learn at their own pace, develop new skills and feel proud of their progress. I look forward to working with families to support each child’s individual journey.

About the lesson

We begin with an initial online consultation to understand your child’s individual profile, interests, strengths, and the areas you would like to support. We will also discuss practical arrangements such as session length, location, and availability.

Sessions are child-led and centred around what your child enjoys. I follow their interests and use these as opportunities to develop communication, confidence, independence, and learning skills in a natural and meaningful way. Through play, exploration, and shared activities, we create opportunities for your child to engage, express themselves, and build new skills at their own pace.

Depending on your child’s needs and goals, sessions may include supporting communication and interaction, such as expressing needs, building vocabulary, and developing social connections. We can work on attention, listening, and engagement through activities that encourage focus and shared participation. Sessions may also support independence and everyday life skills, including following routines, organising belongings, preparing simple food, cooking activities, tidying, and making choices.

Other areas we can explore include developing play and social skills, emotional awareness and regulation, sensory needs, coordination and fine motor skills such as handwriting, drawing, and cutting, as well as confidence with learning and school readiness.

The aim is to create a positive, trusting relationship where your child feels understood and supported while developing skills that are meaningful to them.

Perfect! Vish is simply marvellous! She is so patient and willing to engage at the level our child can manage. Our son is autistic (Asperger’s/PDA) so her ability to almost fade away in the background, lower demand, reduce cognitive load, to facilitate a safe nurturing space is truly a much valued asset she very clearly possesses. Our son is truly very fond of her and we look forward to building blocks!
