About Alyssa
I am a musician, I started playing and learning how to read music when I was 10 years old, I have been taught Music Theory and music has always come easy to me. I am also a singer/songwriter and I am very passionate about teaching music and just music in general!

I teach following intervals and patterns first. I explain the lines and spaces and stepping up going up the alphabet and coming down. Other teachers will use rhymes to teach notes, however, most students end up reading music without knowing the note names, which can cause problems in their future musical career. I teach my students by having them say the note names as they play, students need to be familiar with the notes. Then discuss intervals with them so they become familiar with basic seconds and thirds, making it easier for them to recognize certain sounds and patterns.

Alyssa helped me pass my Algebra class in high school. I always have been "bad" at math and I thought I would fail out of every math class, but Alyssa was persistent and adapted to my learning style to make sure that I passed.
