About Jessica
I am a music student at Cardiff university and I have been playing the clarinet for 11 years. I have clarinet grades from 3-7 and grade 5 theory. I’d love to give online lessons to give children a new understanding and passion of music and to help them develop their personalities and what music stands out to them.

I am geared towards beginner levels on the clarinet, below grade 1 and grades 1-3. My lesson plans would be specific to each student and focus on the things that they are struggling with. For example a lesson for a student below grade 1 would focus on giving the student time to learn how to read music and then teach them the correct finger placement on the clarinet for each corresponding note on a piece of music. Once they have the basics down I would move on to some simple pieces so that they can practice reading the music and working out the finger placement at the same time. If a student is unsure I would be patient with them and would explain what they find challenging in a simple way that makes it easy for them to understand.
I believe the best way for a student to learn is if their teacher is passionate and enthusiastic about what they are teaching as this makes their lessons engaging. I also believe that it is important to be patient with a student as their mistakes are what help them to learn and the best way to grow and develop their talent.
