I give lessons to absolute beginners to those who just wish to further their knowledge more. My techniques are first gauge the students ability in the case of any reteaching certain elements or previous misunderstandings. I approach my lessons on breaking things down and taking things step by step.
I always start my lessons with a warm up with it be kinaesthetic to even a bit of singing, this is followed by a recap before the lessons begin.
I have been a music teacher for over 1 year, I have over 10 years of performance experience specializing in woodwind (clarinet, saxophone and flute)
with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in music performance and technology, I have performed on various shows in various venues one being Her majesties theater home of Phantom of the Opera. My students have been given various opportunities to work on stage and pursue jobs in the music industry. More recently one of my students had the opportunity to work alongside Chesney Hawkes.

Since leaving my secondary school I have kept myself in the education system to reach my career potential.
I am a very reliable, hardworking person, work well within a group environment but if necessary I can work independently. I work well under pressure, can work quickly and efficiently whilst meeting all deadlines. I am an enthusiastic person with good people skills and have a very bubbly personality. I will work to any given task to the best of my ability and will not give up on certain tasks. I am very well mannered and have an enthusiastic approach to working life. I am a fast learner and am enthusiastic to learn new skills.
Whilst attending Brittons School and Technology College I underwent two weeks’ worth of work experience. My work placement was in the school itself, I worked in the music department as a music teacher’s assistant, during my time at the placement I planned various lessons and got the opportunity to teach a class of year 8 students. As well as teaching a class I also helped to organise the school’s annual music concert, I did this by arranging the tables for the members of the audience, helped to compile a list of performers/performances. As well as this I photocopied the programmes for the night’s events. During the arrangement of the concert I also ran the school choir.
During the summer holidays of 2012 I completed a week of Work Experience with the Queens Band of the Blues and Royals. In which I had the opportunity to rehearse in concert band formation with the band and witnessed the changing of the Queens guard at Windsor Castle, so I am used to being in a disciplined environment.

Kingsford Community school- September 2017- Present
During my first year of teaching I took the position of Music teacher through an Education Agency (Engage education)
I have a passion for teaching and helping young people to grow through music, it is an essential part of a child’s development. I have been responsible for creating an energized and engaged environment for children to learn music and ultimately motivate students to foster a lifelong appreciation for music. (KS3 and KS4) I have been charged with the responsibility of ensuring that KS3 students are motivated and actively taking part in music outside of lessons, from this I have been able to work cross curricular to arrange performances for internal and external events.
During my time at Kingsford I have been responsible for the teaching and learning of all students which include children with SEN and EAL. I have also been working alongside the Head of Department to develop the music curriculum and how it is delivered in lesson time. Music students are assessed formatively during their lesson time and summatively at the end of each term the data is then entered into SIMS. During my time at Kingsford there have been a variety of behavioral issues some of which I have had to do some professional reading and research into developing various discipline strategies for during class time.
As well as teaching I am also a co-tutor to two forms- year 10 and year 7- my role is to support the tutor where necessary and also support and guide my tutees throughout their school life.
