About Holly
I began my musical journey aged 6 with a toy guitar, teaching myself Beatles songs from a Beatles Complete songbook. By 12 I was playing Led Zeppelin by ear. These were the days before tab and Internet - it was a fantastic grounding in what would eventually turn into a successful music career, releasing records under the names Angelou and Holly Lerski. I've taught guitar since 2005, alongside my career, and this year began producing in Nashville.

I teach guitar the same way I learnt to play - by learning the songs I loved. This is the way to master all the essentials without giving up - making you not just a good guitarist, but a great musician. For Beginners: Essential chords and strumming patterns (Acoustic focus). Building a solid rhythmic foundation and timing. Reading tablature and understanding basic chord charts. Careful attention to technique to prevent bad habits. For Intermediate: Fretboard knowledge and mastery of the CAGED system. Developing soloing and lead guitar techniques (Electric focus). Advanced rhythm and syncopation. Developing ear training (playing songs by ear). Creative use of capos and alternate tunings. For Advanced: Demoing & Recording guidance for the studio, creating professional-sounding demos, and understanding the process of recording. Nashville studio and networking opportunities offered.
