About Leah
Hi, I’m Leah! I am a native Dutch speaker from the Netherlands, currently based in the United States. I hold two Master of Science degrees from Leiden University and the University of Amsterdam and have experience teaching, mentoring, and working with students from diverse backgrounds.
During my time at Western Michigan University, I designed and taught an introductory Dutch language and culture lesson for university students. As an anthropologist, I also enjoy bringing culture, history, and everyday life into language learning. My goal is to create a welcoming environment where students feel comfortable practicing Dutch, making mistakes, and building confidence.
Fun fact: I grew up in the Netherlands around traditional windmills and green wooden houses.
