About Melissa

Hello Future Students!

I am a university language student currently working towards my degree with certificates of higher education in French, Chinese, and Spanish. My academic journey has been enriched by taking modules in English, French, Spanish, and Chinese history, culture, and film, which have given me a well-rounded perspective on these languages and their cultural contexts.

Outside of academics, I have traveled extensively throughout the UK, and I especially love to holiday in Cornwall, where I enjoy the stunning scenery and coastal charm. In my free time, I love to unwind with video games and professional wrestling. I also enjoy exploring new places and, of course, learning new languages.

My diverse experiences and passions make me a well-rounded and enthusiastic teacher. I am excited to share my knowledge and help you on your journey to mastering English. Let's learn and grow together!

About the lesson

Choosing the right English teacher can make a significant difference in your language learning journey. Here’s why you should come to me for your English lessons:

1. Native Speaker Expertise:
As a native English speaker, I provide an authentic learning experience. You'll not only learn correct grammar and vocabulary but also understand the nuances, idioms, and cultural context that come with mastering English.

2. Academic background:
With my strong background in Modern Foreign Languages and top grades in English A levels, I have a deep understanding of both the structure of English and effective language teaching methodologies. This academic foundation allows me to offer high-quality instruction.

3. Personalised Learning:
I believe that each student is unique, and so are their learning needs. My bespoke lessons are tailored to your individual goals, whether you aim to improve your conversational skills, find out more about the country you are visiting, prepare for exams, or enhance your professional language proficiency. By focusing on your specific requirements, I ensure that every lesson is relevant and engaging.

4. Cultural Insights:
Learning a language is more than just words and rules; it's about understanding the culture behind it. As a native speaker, I can provide you with cultural insights and real-life contexts that enrich your learning experience and help you communicate more naturally and effectively. I can also offer glimpses into early modern English history to compliment studies.

5. Flexible and Adaptable:
I offer flexible scheduling to accommodate your busy life and I can adapt to your preferred learning style and environment, making it convenient for you to learn at your own pace.

6. Passion and Dedication:
Languages are not just a job for me; they are my passion. I am committed to helping you succeed in your language journey and will go the extra mile to ensure you reach your language goals. My dedication to your progress means that you will receive continuous support and encouragement throughout your learning journey.

By choosing me as your English teacher, you are investing in a personalised, high-quality, and culturally enriched learning experience that will empower you to achieve confidence in English. Let’s embark on this journey together and unlock your full potential!
