About Hywel
I studied Mechanical Engineering and have also trained in UX/UI design, which has given me a structured, analytical approach to problem-solving and clear communication. Alongside this, I have several years of experience teaching surfing — a role that has strengthened my ability to explain concepts clearly, adapt to different learning styles, and create a supportive learning environment. I’ve lived and worked in several countries, which has given me a broad cultural perspective and an understanding of the challenges involved in learning and communicating in another language. I aim to bring patience, professionalism, and encouragement to every lesson.

I focus on building confidence through conversation, homework help, reading, and everyday English — especially for students who feel shy, stuck, or overwhelmed. My lessons are patient, encouraging, and adapted to each student’s pace. The goal is to feel more comfortable speaking and understanding English in real life, not to feel pressured or judged. I enjoy working with all ages/abilities and would be more than happy to work towards your specific goals.
