About Kiana
I am an English speaker and tutor from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in the United States of America but now based in Japan.
I decided to tutor as I have a career history centered around helping people and wanted to extend it in a way that allowed me to work for myself on my own time, thus providing me with the ability to show up holistically.
When I am not teaching I enjoy reading and learning more about my current location.

For my lessons, I like to make sure the student is able to gain a practical conveying of English as well as understand it first in ways most applicable to their needs (school, work, internal personal, etc).
I let the student tell me why they are pursuing tutoring and then I develop what I teach them from there.
In spoken lessons I instruct the student on proper pronunciation of English so that their diction is understood as well.
