About Lydia
I come from an academic background with a bachelors degree in Psychology, which progressed to working as an Assistant Psychologist whilst living in the UK. I am currently taking a career break whilst living in Australia, and have been working as an English tutor for the past year.
I have made great relationships with students from all corners of the world which has enabled me to learn about different cultures and traditions.
I also love to learn languages myself, and have an upper intermediate level of Spanish. My next goal is to begin learning Japanese before my upcoming trip to Tokyo!
I am looking forward to continuing with my passion of helping other people and supporting them to learn English. I hope to hear from you soon!

As someone who has worked directly with people throughout my whole career, I would describe my teaching style and personality as patient, warm and approachable. I know how daunting it can be to learn a foreign language, so I can empathise with worrying about making mistakes and perfecting my accent!
I hold a TEFL certification and have been working as a tutor for the past year, which has enabled me to work online with many students from all over the world to achieve their goals. I have also previously worked as a childcare practitioner with children that are learning English as a second language. Now, I typically work with students over the age of 15 with an intermediate to advanced level of English. My lessons focus on a range of areas including conversational English, role playing, reading, vocabulary expansion and discussions/debates. Usual lessons range from 30 minutes to 1 hour, but this can be negotiated based on student preference.
