I am a sixth form student who is truly passionate about teaching English as a foreign language, I am a native English speaker from the UK. I have conversed with and helped many people with English in my spare time unofficially and unprofessionally too. I have a fun and bubbly personality which will help you feel at ease when talking to me and there are no limits as to how I teach and the approaches I take with this too and of course, if there is a specific way you would like to be taught then I would be more than happy to comply.
I aim to help you;
- Become more confident in speaking English as a whole as this is one of the key elements when speaking a language
-Improving listening, speaking, reading and writing skills
-Learn dialect and slangs (if you wish to)
-Become familiar with the contrasting and numerous accents which exist within the UK
-Anything! From comprehensive reading to writing a story with extraordinary vocabulary or even just talking about random things just to put your English in use!
These are just some of the few things in which I intend on helping you with, however, if there is something you would like me to help you with particularly then we can focus on that as such. This is about your needs, not mine, we can learn about whatever you want.. :)
I intend to make my lessons fun and educational so they are overall worthwhile. I don't intend to pressure you in any way.
First lesson - Our first lesson will just begin with self-introductions and becoming familiar with one another as well as planning out a schedule in which is best suited to meet your learning and what you wish to learn. Like I said, we can learn about anything you want, in English of course. :)
I think it is essential to have a great relationship and commitment with students as this is what breaks the tension and allows them to be more confident in speaking English. I can assure you that I am a very friendly person and that my true intention is to put your English in to use as well as helping you to be more confident, I am not here to judge but to budge so you can step out of your comfort zones! :)
I am able to text message or voice chat via Skype. I look forward to be assisting you with your English.
I am not a professional teacher and I don't intend to make myself out as one. However, as previously mentioned, I regularly help people with English in my spare time out of my own will and every one of them has enjoyed talking to me, I have had feedback that i am a very bubbly (energetic, fun to talk to) person and that they enjoy conversing with me. I hope to further improve my communication skills by helping more and more students and count this as experience too.
I am also taking part in Reading Leaders where i am assigned to a student who has difficulty reading and progressively helping them improve through encouragement and personal help.
I visit New Arrivals for work experience (in my high school) where I am assigned to a class to gain experience and insight of what it is like to teach English as a second language, especially to young teens.
2017 - A Level English Language/Literature, in progress (also studying A Level RS and Maths)
2016 - GCSEs - 9 A*-Cs including relevant subjects; A in English Literature and B in English Language
2017 - Work Experience, in progress - I currently am doing work placements in New Arrivals on a weekly basis with foreign students in my high school. I enjoy communicating with these students and learning more about them as well as my own language. They are a joy to talk to and always remind me why I want to do this. I have developed great communication skills and teaching skills from the teacher also. From looking through the students book I can see that they have progressively improved their English skills and vocabulary daily and that they are very comfortable speaking English in their friendly environment.
