About Oliver
Hello!!!!! I am an English teacher in Strasbourg and it is my mother tongue. I have years of experience and teach all ages (young children, teenagers and adults). Teaching is one of my passions and I love to do it. I have worked in the French school system before and I know how difficult it can be for students in a class of 30 to fully enjoy their English learning. I would give you or your children a personal learning experience tailored to your needs. For example, I helped students to take exams to enter certain international schools here (Lycee Pontonniers for example). Or if you or your child wants to study at a commercial university or in a foreign country. For adults, I can help you improve your English in professional, personal and exam areas (Marlins Test for mairners). The first course is free. We can have a lesson at home, in cafes or on Zoom (this is obviously important for the Covid-19 situation). For detailed work experience, as well as private lessons, I worked in kindergartens, language centers and colleges. I speak French but I will only speak English with the student because immersion is very important to learn a language. BUT I also use a lot of visual aid so the lessons don't get overwhelming. Additionally, I use logic-based methods to help a student understand grammar or new vocabulary. (If I translate all the words that a student doesn't know, students usually forget right away so this method works best)
