About Charles
I studied English teaching five years ago in Spain. After travelling for a few years, in January 2019 I arrived in Milan where, until June this year, I had been working with a few different schools. I taught in an elementary school, at the homes of both children and adults, in private schools and more recently (for obvious reasons!) I have given many lessons online. The fact that I speak Italian (though I'm not an expert! :)) I have found to be an advantage, to be able to explain things at basic levels, while also being able to clarify and understand myself some linguistic confusions that can happen.

As for my methods, I am very flexible. Whether the student would like a more informal way of studying with lots of speaking opportunities, or doing intense preparation for exams (IELTS for example), I can help. During the pandemic, I completely moved to Skype / Zoom, and while there are small disadvantages to teaching through the screen, the core experience hasn't changed that much. If there is no particular purpose for the lessons, I always stress the need for conversation, even at basic levels (my accent is very subtle) and ideally I like to structure the lessons around talking. My interests are quite diverse - music, politics, arts, technology, travel, and I love talking to others and discovering their interests.
